Skin rejuvenation encompasses many different procedures, but all will yield the same result: a new, more confident you. Whether you have a skin condition that has left undesirable marks or you want to do something special for yourself and your appearance, laser skin resurfacing is an accessible option. Dr. Mani at San Diego Cosmetic Laser is an award-winning doctor with more than 15 years’ experience in the field and can help you navigate your treatment options.
Laser skin resurfacing is a blanket term that applies to the process of removing layers of skin. The laser itself is precise, meaning that in most procedures, the only area affected is the area that you need to be treated. Whichever procedure your doctor recommends, it generally takes a series of treatments to get the desired result.
Skin rejuvenation is becoming more widespread and accessible. If wrinkles, fine lines, and other skin issues have you feeling down about your appearance, laser resurfacing is a minimally invasive option. Some of the conditions treated by these procedures include:
These laser treatments are suitable for any healthy adult who wants to feel more confident about their appearance. Dr. Mani works with all skin tones and can advise you on which procedures best suit your individual needs. The key is to commit to a good skin care regimen to keep up your results.
Depending on your customized treatment plan, healing time can take anywhere from a few days to three weeks. If the laser must penetrate deep or the treatment area is large, recovery time will take longer. You can expect light swelling, bruising and skin peeling. These are all normal and will subside in time to reveal beautiful, youthful skin.
With so much sun in San Diego, skin rejuvenation is a common practice to help skin stay supple and gorgeous. Fraxel is a non-invasive laser therapy providing a wide array of treatment options to address many forms of aging, customized to each patient’s needs and concerns, many requiring minimal recovery time. It’s the perfect solution for people who want their skin to look younger and natural and can’t afford a lot of time away from work or their social life.
Ultherapy is the latest non-surgical facelift procedure. As women age, many experience loss of elasticity in the skin, causing their face to sag and stretch. Prior to current technologies, a surgical facelift was one of the only options for tightening and lifting the brow line, chin, neck and chest.
With Ultherapy, women (and men) across the world are experiencing a renewed sense of youth and beauty with an FDA-approved “lunch time” procedure that requires no knives, sutures or extensive recovery.
Photorejuvenation refers to the use of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) to treat conditions related to sun-induced skin damage. IPL treatment improves the appearance of photo-aged skin, removes age spots (sun-induced freckles), most benign brown pigments, and redness caused by broken capillaries. The process is ideal for patients with active lifestyles because the procedure requires no downtime and has a low risk of side effects.
Photodynamic Acne Treatment (PDT) is a safe and highly effective method of treating a variety of skin conditions- including the acne. PDT is an alternative to systemic oral drugs such as Accutane, which carries significant risks and side effects. A clear, painless solution of a photosensitizing agent called Levulan is applied to the surface of the skin. 30-60 minutes later it is activated by blue light that activates the porphyrins in the bacteria, which results in a photodynamic effect that kills the bacteria. This treatment improves wrinkles, skin texture, and skin pigmentation while reducing the size of pores and removing pre-cancerous actinic keratosis. PDT also treats moderate to severe cystic acne and sebaceous hyperplasia while preventing skin cancer.
