How much does Juvederm cost in San Diego?

The cost of Juvederm treatment will depend on the formula used, the scope of the treatment, how much formula is needed to achieve the desired results, and the location of the practice. At San Diego Cosmetic Laser Clinic, we offer a vial of Juvederm for $495-$600. In cases where only mild correction is needed, one vial can sometimes be used to treat a couple of small areas, but it’s important not to spread a single vial too far or the results may be disappointing. The best way to estimate how many vials of Juvederm are needed to help you achieve your desired results is to schedule a consultation with a Dr. Mani, who is a skilled and experienced injector and facial aesthetic practitioner. During your consultation, Dr. Mani will evaluate your areas of concern and assess the volume loss and the depth of the wrinkles and create a treatment plan designed to help you reach your aesthetic goals.

What is Juvederm?

Juvederm is a family of dermal fillers all containing hyaluronic acid at their base. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a sugar molecule that’s found naturally in the body. It can hold over 1000 times its weight in water. Natural hyaluronic acid in the skin helps keep it plump, supple, and hydrated from within. As we age, our hyaluronic acid production decreases. Juvederm formulas are created with a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid, which replenishes moisture beneath the skin, fills in wrinkles, and plumps and firms for a youthful texture and appearance. Each of the different formulas in the Juvederm collection is created with different molecule sizes to treat different skin concerns. Whether you want to correct jowls, add height and prominence to cheek bones, eliminate fine lines or fill in deep facial folds, Juvederm has a formula for you.

FAQ about Juvederm

Juvederm XC is commonly used to treat facial wrinkles and folds that are moderate to severe in nature. When injected, volume is added to the skin. This filler works particularly well around the mouth and nasal areas. Juvederm XC is also used to enhance lips, reduce the appearance of scars and can even serve as a temporary chin “implant.”
Juvederm Voluma XC is used in the cheek area and is injected deep into the tissue. This treatment is intended to increase the volume in this area, which becomes depleted, as you get older. This treatment also works to smooth out wrinkles.
Juvederm can work wonders for a wide range of skin types and wrinkle types. It can add volume to sagging cheeks, correct the appearance of smokers lines around the mouth, minimize smile lines, and more. But Juvederm is not the best option for everyone. The best candidates for Juvederm injections are: -At least 21 years of age -Non-smokers -In good physical health -Free of any health conditions that could affect healing -Practicing good skincare habits and have healthy skin that is not overly damaged from sun exposure or other environmental factors It’s important to note that Juvederm works best on stagnant wrinkles, which are those visible when the face is at rest. If you want to address the dynamic wrinkles that appear when you make a facial expression, then Dr. Mani can talk to you about Botox, which is perfectly safe to use in conjunction with Juvederm treatments to achieve optimum youthful radiance.
You may experience some discomfort during and after the injection in the immediate areas; however, both Juvederm XC and Juvederm Voluma XC contains lidocaine to help alleviate pain. Your doctor may also numb the area that you are having treated.
A Juvederm treatment can be effective up to 1 year, while Juvederm Voluma XC can be effective up to 2 years.

What can I expect from my Juvederm results?

Juvederm results begin to appear right away, though it does take a few days for the formula to settle and give you a natural appearance. Juvederm can be used to provide subtle, natural results or more dramatic results, depending on the needs of the individual. The results are temporary, however. The hyaluronic acid formula will eventually be absorbed by the body. Depending on the formula used as well as the body chemistry of the individual, Juvederm results can last up to 18 months or more. Many clients prefer to come in for maintenance appointments before the formula has been completely reabsorbed. Recent studies have shown that hyaluronic acid not only works as a temporary filler but it may also stimulate natural collagen production so the results continue to improve over time. At San Diego Cosmetic Laser, we have seen that, over time, some of our clients who come in consistently need less to achieve the same results.

What Side Effects Might Be Experienced?

With Juvederm XC, you might experience redness, tenderness, swelling, bruising, firmness, discoloration, bumps, or itching at the site of injection. These side effects last a maximum of seven days.

With Juvederm Voluma XC, you might notice the same side effects as those of Juvederm XC, but you may also experience some pain. These side effects last two to four weeks in most cases.
